Hello to all our friends of the House of Hope! We would like to provide an update for you as to the comings and goings here at this house of hospitality. The House of Hope in Langley is our first major project and vision of the South Whidbey Homeless Coalition. We opened our doors for the first time on Memorial Day this year. The House of Hope had a wait list and was full with no vacancy before we even opened the doors. We have been steadfast in our core mission to provide emergency shelter to those in need and if applicable try and transition them into permanent housing. Three families have passed through our doors to date, two of which have been successfully housed. We are currently housing another 3 families who we hope to help support in their bid to stay on the south end and find affordable housing for them and their children. We receive phone calls and visits weekly by folks who are seeking housing here on South Whidbey.
As always, Please feel free to come by and visit, to volunteer or to just pop in here and say "Hello!"
Thanks as always to the dedicated board, volunteers and community members who have made this home a reality.
