Wednesday Wanderings

I'me not certain if anyone even reads these words but sometimes the need to write comes on so here  I am, bear with me.  Today the continuing of this work we are doing is large on my mind.   Two years ago a few people had a vision.  Today that vision has manifested into a Warming Center for the Winter months at a local church (LUMC) and a House of Hospitality in Langley we call the House of Hope.  In under one years we have had 60 persons who have come through our doors and found shelter, and in most of the cases, secured housing for themself and their families after their stay with us.  This is huge!  All who have had a hand in this work must stop and congratulate yourselves for a job well done!!  Yet the work continues.............

A wise woman counseled me yesterday with good Wisdom.  Her words of advise were for us to always be on the lookout for people in the community with a 'Heart' for the service work we are doing in providing shelter for the homeless.  I believe her words to be profound and I intend to act on them now.  I am urging anyone who reads these words, who has shown up to look at our website, to perhaps, if you wish to take a closer look, contact me at swhomelesscoalition.com or call me at 360 914 2953.  My wise friend told me to keep eyes open for you, to invite you to volunteer, and if you really fall in love with the work and people like we have, come join our board of directors!  So I am taking a risk here that someone really does read this blog and if your heart is moved, give me a call!!  This is all sacred ground we are walking on.  Let's journey together.  Judy, Board Member SWHC
