This event was a major success!  Great turnout and wonderful people showed up to support our  work and to listen to great music performed by Janie and her band.  We are so very blessed to have such caring volunteers, staff and community members who chipped in to make this possible!

WICA EVENT

A wonderful, community supported event at WICA last evening put on by Sno-Isle Library....Homelessness was the issue and the community came out in force.  The place was filled, the energy wonderful, and the presenters were informative and the conversations afterward quite moving.  Seen here from the left, JoAnne Pelant, Housing Specialist for Island County, Faith Wilder, Board President, Whidbey Homeless Coalition, Lori Cavender, Ryan's House for Youth, and Vivian Decker, Spin Cafe and Oak Harbor School District.

Pictured here are images from our All Island Music and Arts Fest held on October 8, 2016.  Please enjoy.

Pictured front and center is Sam Rowley who organized our incredibly successful event at Bayview Farm and Garden Nursery.  As you can see by the pictures this was an event for all ages but we were particularly delighted and blessed by the community of young people who showed up to support the mission of the WHC.  Sam, along with his wife Ashley, and Ms Katie Lint, Seth David, and Tracey Channing worked tirelessly to create a successful evening and all our expectations were met.  Thanks to these young people, all the musicians, Nekoda and Miguel for the food, the baristas and all who came.  Blessings!

HAPPY ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY HOUSE OF HOPE

May 26, 2016 we held a birthday celebration for the one year anniversary of the House of Hope.  This has been a year of Joy, challenges, new friends, and blessings a plenty.  We have housed 70 plus persons, 37 of these being children.  Our guests help to make our House of Hope a home to be a welcoming place of hospitality for all who come into our lives.  Pictured below are just a few of the highlights of the afternoon.

BUILDING HOPE TOGETHER

Our fundraiser on May 14th was a resounding success.  St. Augustines hosted and the people came.....We are so very grateful to the folks of Whidbey Island who showed up to suppport the work we are doing to 'make homeless a brief and rare experience in our community.'  Here are a few images from our gala!

Ms. Judy Yeakel's daughter Barb painted this beauty and it will grace the House of Hope, the home Judy purchased 30 years ago to serve folks in our community.  Our wonderful Advisor, Susie Richards purchased the painting in order to give it back!
